5 Offensive Players To Watch Tonight Against KC

Certainly this game will be interesting. And that was before starting QB Cam Newton came down with a positive COVID test early Saturday. The positive tests from both Newton and 3rd string Chiefs QB Jordan Ta'amu has thrown the NFL schedule into a frenzy. The game, pushed from 4:25 on Sunday to 7:05 on Monday, will also feature Brian Hoyer in his first career Patriot start. Playing alongside Hoyer will be a bunch of offensive weapons that all fans should keep their eyes peeled for.

1. Damien Harris, RB #37

The 2nd year back out of Alabama will (most likely) be activated off of IR around 4 pm today. Harris was heralded as the "Number 1 RB" coming out of camp, but a pinky injury landed him on Injured Reserve. If activated, expect him to carry the ball 10+ times to keep the potent KC offense off the field, something that has plagued Mahomes and the Chiefs when they lose to the Patriots (Given up 175+ yards in their 2 loses in 2018).

2. Gunner Olszewski, WR #80

Harris' IR mate, the 2nd year UDFA WR/PR, will also be looking to see his first action of the new season. The Texas native ended his rookie campaign on IR and will be an extra weapon for Hoyer and Cam, when he returns. His quickness and ability to separate will definitely help this Patriots WR cops, which can tend to struggle in the separation game. Gunner can also provide continuity in the punt return game.

3. Devin Asiasi, TE #86

The rookie TE who many assume is here to take the job from Ryan Izzo, has looked borderline invisible these first 3 weeks. Asiasi is yet to see a pass come his way, but his total snaps jumped from 10 in both Weeks 1 and 2 to 29 against the Raiders, so expect a little bit of offense headed his way.

4. Michael Onwenu, LG #71

The Michigan alum has played all over the line in his first 3 NFL games, playing as an extra tackle in goal lines and Thuney's replacement at LG last week. He was one of the few players to miss a block on the final play in Seattle, so the run game will need to be anchored by Onwenu (who will most likely be slotted in the LG spot for a second straight week). He is PFF's highest rated rookie after 3 weeks, so expect another big week for Mike against a somewhat weak KC run defense.

5. Jermaine Eluemunor, RT #72

The replacement for Marcus Cannon, Eluemunor has been spotty in his 2020 campaign thus far. It is best for an lineman to not be see, but the Raiders rush defense, especially Maxx Crosby, tore threw Jermaine during the first half of Week 3's win. With a backup QB and the absence of Sony Michel, this offense will need all the help they can get from the boys up front.
