Like It Or Not, We’re Onto Tennessee

It is not ideal at all that we have to play this weekend. It is even less ideal that we are now playing on a short week with the game being scheduled on Saturday. It is even less less ideal that we have the play the Tennessee Titans, arguably the hottest team in the NFL this season.

Even with all that, you’d be wrong to quit now. The media members and outlets have always had this narrative that the Patriots can’t possibly win a Super Bowl if we don’t have a first round bye, all because we lost to the Ravens a decade ago. I understand that in all of our Super Bowl wins we have secured a first round bye but I don’t get why the world thinks that teams who play on wildcard weekend are just incapable of playing in February. It’s not like it hasn’t happened before and is a common thing in the league. Take a look at the other side of the bracket, the Saints are in the same situation but the sky isn’t falling for them. They are one of the people’s favorites to make it to Miami.

It sucks we controlled our own destiny and lost control. It is completely deflating and takes a major blow to confidence. But this is the New England Patriots we are talking about here. As cliche as you think that sounds, that will always be the silver lining. If there was one team in the history of sports you can put your full faith in, its this one. No matter how bad it looks or how much we get hit, we always get back up.

I don’t care if we are the one seed or the sixth seed, as long as Belichick is calling the shots, and Brady is under center I will think Super Bowl. That’s how it always has been and always will be.

So whether we like it or not, we have a big game on Saturday and we have to make a statement somewhere. Find motivation. Let’s get excited about something. Let’s shock the world for the 6th time. Never give up because it can always be one hell of a story. If the ship is sinking, I want to be going down with it.
