Washout in Oakland, comes to New England, proceeds to shatter NFL records. Will history strike twice in Foxboro?
On September 8th, a day before the Patriots season opener, recently released star WR Antonio Brown was cut by the Raiders. Immediately, Twitter and Instagram exploded, making meme after meme about Brown’s time in Oakland. Then the NFL world was absolutely destroyed. The Evil Empire, the defending world champion New England Patriots sign Brown to a 1 year, $15 million deal with a $9 million signing bonus. This took the Pats’ WR corps from good to possibly best in the entire league. Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Demaryius Thomas and now Antonio Brown will destroy secondaries, paving the way to a possible career year for TB12.

There are 4 current players who have had a 1,600 yard season. 3 of them currently reside in Massachusetts (Gordon, Brown, Thomas). The amount of firepower this offense has, mixed with the depth at RB, has people already predicting a repeat for NEP. An offseason that started with questions about how to move the ball through the air has now been answered.
Brown’s signing means that one player will need to be released. The most obvious choices would be at WR. Rookie Gunner Olszewski and veteran Philip Dorsett need to perform extremely well Sunday Night to attempt and stay on the team.

Brown’s offseason saga was one of the wackiest in sports history. Now he has a chance to do something even wackier. Join the Patriots on their quest to win ring #7. Business is Boomin’ for sure up at Gillette Stadium.
